Walk in the historical centre of Aveiro (small charming coastal town) and discovery of the beaches of Costa Nova and Barra
Aveiro, a coastal city famous for its canals, its moliceiros (typical boats traditionally used for harvesting seaweed used as agricultural fertiliser), its Art Nouveau architecture, its saltwater lagoon and saltpans, its fine sandy beaches and its delicious gastronomy… Here life flows gently to the rhythm of the Ria!
Afternoon: Solar boat ride to discover the Ria of Aveiro
Playful and sporty morning: Aquatic hike along the Rio Gresso (duration 3h).
Playful and sporty afternoon: Canoeing in the Rio Vouga reservoir (duration 3h)
Suggestions: Discovery of the Caramulo mountain (splendid landscapes). Exceptional viewpoint at the top of Caramulinho (easy walk with children).
The viewpoint of the Serra do Caramulo offers an exceptional panorama at an altitude of about 1075 metres. If the weather is good, you can see as far as Aveiro and the Portuguese coast. The Caramulinho is a place of great peace of mind and natural beauty, where the great beauty of the Serra do Caramulo can be observed.
Visit to the Caramulo Museum, located at the top of the Caramulo mountain, which holds a collection of 65 vintage cars, a collection of old and new art and a museum of antique toys.
Morning: Suggestion: Visit to the City of the Templars “Tomar” and its beautiful castle.
Afternoon: Head to Nazaré, a coastal fishing town.
Tomar: Former main location of the Templar Order, Tomar is a city of great charm, with a rich artistic and cultural heritage. A must-see is the Convent of Christ, Tomar Castle, one of the most important works of the Renaissance in Portugal.
Nazaré: The beach of Nazaré, is an enchantment and remains one of the most famous beaches for the traditional fishing and for its waves which in winter are among the highest of the world reaching 30 m!
The town’s half-moon shaped waterfront is known for its largeness, and its brightly coloured awnings that decorate the white sandy beach in contrast to the blue water. From the top of the cliff, the view is of great beauty!
City of Nazaré: discovery of the steep and impressive coastline to Peniche and its lagoon, Foz do Arelho, a stop at Óbidos
Óbidos is one of the most beautiful fortified mediaeval villages in Portugal, dominated by a castle that dominates the surrounding landscape, a village filled with whitewashed, blue and yellow houses decorated with colourful flowers. Churches, restaurants, craft shops and other businesses are spread throughout the narrow streets of the fortified town.
Tapada National Park of Mafra: A huge 800 ha leisure park, built by King Dom João V.

Day trip to the Mira de Aire Caves (the largest caves in Portugal) in the Serra de Aires e Candeeiros Natural Park.
The Mira de Aire caves are the largest tourist caves in Portugal. Their length reaches 11.5 km, but only 600 metres can be visited by tourists. A deep descent to the centre of the earth! A lighting of more than 3000 lamps of all colours . A spectacle of great beauty!
